Right now this application is in it's VERY VERY VERY EARLY dev stages. It's merely a promo app. It's a web wrapper app to help spread the word on android-devs.org.
http://code.google.com/p/android-devs/ - open source project page.
should I switch to github? would ppl like that more?
Here's the app in it's current development state:
I plan to continue development on the app far beyond that of a web wrapper app. I'd like to eventually turn it into a mobile marketplace for devs to distribute their work. such as themes, roms, apps that can't be posted in the market (such as wifi tether) which will help make it easier for devs to distribute their work. I hope to offer devs personal pages on the app where their work can be located and offer easy access to donate information to help the devs receive money for their work!
NOTE:
This is a brief summary of what I have in mind. I'll elaborate in detail very soon.
UPDATE 1/3/10 - Definitely looking for some assistance with allowing the download manager to work correctly in the app so files can be downloaded on the phone from the forum. and we need to add a menu button system so we can add a refresh and a button or tab solution to the IRC chat when i set up the IRC room.
Roadmap:
For 1.0 release:
-Initial web access to the forum -complete-
-incorporate refresh and zoom buttons
-incorporate a tab system along the top of the app and have the second tab be access to android-devs IRC (i'll have the IRC room setup soon)
2.0
-Initial design of app to contain tabs to access the forums/chat/marketplace
-create a marketplace where apps/files can be uploaded to the market
-create a webpage devs can access via the computer to manage their dev profile in the market and upload their files/apps
more to come....
LOOKING TO GIVE DEVS SVN ACCESS!!
Please speak up!
I would love to see some app devs get involved and help contribute code and fixes and enhancements for the app on the open source project.
If you're a dev and want to help out! speak up! let me know you're interested!
If you're a reader give your input! share ideas!
Hopefully we can make this thread a great brainstorming spot to help improve this app.
